I had the pleasant experience of going down to guidance a couple of weeks ago. I'm usually not afraid or spooked to go into guidance. Yes I do dread these trips but last year they happened all to often and naturally repeated visits causes these fears to go away. This outcome could be good or bad according to your personal judgment. It was quite a shock to see my Canine, Feline, and Vet Science teacher sitting there. It really freaked me out and at that moment I thought the shack was really gonna be given to me. So I sat down and to surprise she actually has good things to say about me. She wrote down on a index card that I'm intelligent, articulate, kind-hearted, caring, and have a great sense of humor. She said to me that I'm one of her favorite students. Then she continues saying that I'm an independent thinker and that I can really be successful but my outward appearance is holding me back. She wanted to know what I was really thinking and says that I can say anything to her at that moment. Her exact words, "You can call me a bitch" or "Mrs. Mckenna, how dare you." I just said that I wish that I didn't have such a caring teacher. She then says "Thats one of the best complements I've heard all day." Then after she left and after me and the guidance couselor talked, I was given a pass to go back to class. Just so happens to be hers. I go through the door and she gives me this genuine smile and that is something that has stuck in my mind all this time. If I had the guts to actually say it, I would tell her,
"Mrs. Mckenna, the fact that you care about my wellbeing really means alot to me. I never had the guts to say it but it just means so much. Thankyou"
